The IWH research institute does not expect a wave of bankruptcies in Germany
Despite the coronavirus crisis, the number of corporate bankruptcies in Germany has stabilized at a low level, but the number of jobs lost has risen, according to a report by the Halle-based IWH Economic Research Institute published on Tuesday.
The Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung Halle (IWH) conducts a monthly survey of bankruptcy filings in Germany. The number of bankruptcy filings in September was also lower than a year before: 702 companies filed for bankruptcy, about three-quarters of those in September 2019. (MTI)
