It is unlikely that Hungary can win on the grain shortage in Russia. The Russian animal farmers have to buy 1.5 million tons of feed grain, because last year’s crop does not prove to be sufficient for the needs – the Russian Ministry of Agriculture announced, and justified the step with the drought, rainless weather of 2012.

Hungary has no significant amount of grain, which would be satisfy the Russian market demand. However, other European countries – mainly France and Germany can fullfill the demands – Raskó György agricultural economist told Világgazdaság.
