Aldi bans plastic shopping bags
ALDI Hungary has banned plastic shopping bags, in the future biodegradable plastic bags, paper bags and multi-use shopping bags will be available to customers in ALDI stores. At the same time the discount supermarket chain has also been testing biodegradable fruit and vegetable bags in 5 stores since mid-October – shoppers can buy these for 10 forints. After a consumer vote on Facebook in spring 2019, ALDI also phases out plastic lids on private label dairy products, replacing them with multi-use silicone ones. //
