There will be no VAT increase in Romania
The Romanian Minister of Finance denied the rumors, that the Romanian authorities will increase the VAT, by 19 percent. However they are investigating the possibility of extending the tax base.
There is a pressure on the Romanian budget, due to the fact that this year’s economy growth will be smaller than expected. The government expect a gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 0.8 percent, but according to the Finance Minister; this estimate is too optimistic, since they calculated with a 1.3 percent GDP growth at the beginning of the year – reports MTI.
