The best riesling comes from Badacsony

The largest domestic muster of the “most Hungarian” grape variety, the Riesling October Grand Tasting will take place on October 12. As a novelty this year, exhibitors can bring their Rhine Riesling items alongside their Italian Riesling wines.

The independent professional jury judged 80 wines blindly, in a uniform and objective manner, on the basis of a 100-point positive review sheet recommended by the Grand International Wine Competition Association (Les Grands Concours International De Vins Et Spiritueux) and the UIOE and the OIV.

In the category of Italian Riesling, just like last year, the Badacsony-based Borbély Family Cellar’s Honeymoon in Bács wine won. Although most of the entries in the top 10 are represented by the Balaton region, Eger and Mátra wines were also among the best.
