Charles' organic carrots rejected by Sainsbury's for being 'rotten'
SAINSBURY'S rejected royal carrots grown at the Prince of Wales's organic farm because they were “rotten”.
The supermarket giant said the quality of Duchy carrots from
Highgrove had "deteriorated" after being stored over the winter. It also
rejected organic carrots supplied by Soil Association director Patrick Holden's
Welsh farm near Lampeter, for the same reason.
But Mr Holden said he believed he and Charles were victims
of the centralised supermarket supply system.
