We do not use the irrigation capacities

According to the Minister of Agriculture, “drought is the main source of danger for the Hungarian agriculture today”.

Nagy István said at the Agricultural Forum of the opening of the Farmer Expo in Debrecen on Friday that without irrigation there will be no effective production.
There are currently 80 thousand hectares of irrigated in the country from water above the surface, while the existing canals would be able to irrigate 200,000 hectares – he remarked. (MTI)
