He added that desperate farmers turned to the Ministry of Agriculture for help after Bászna Gabona Zrt. did not pay the price for the grain they purchased or the service provided on time, did not settle the advance payment taken, or the fate of the crop stored with it became uncertain. The company is not fulfilling its obligations under the contract, and the government will not leave this without a word – the minister indicated. An investigation has been launched into the case, and according to the government’s decision, the state will reimburse the claims of partners who are classified as small and medium-sized enterprises, and the details are being worked out – he announced. “Business partners in trouble can count on the government, we will not apply discounting,” the minister said, indicating that if the court orders the liquidation of the company, the government will use the option of declaring it a priority, so a significantly faster procedure can be expected compared to the general procedure. István Nagy said: we are working on developing rules that will enable farmers to be provided with the resources necessary for spring work. However, this will also require the cooperation of those affected, so he asked them to pay attention to the deadlines in the details to be published next week. “The price of honest work must be paid! This is a matter of honor and a legal obligation! The government will stand its ground and guarantee that the victims get their money!” – the minister underlined.
