Two SPAR supermarkets in Budapest have been renovated with an investment of approximately 580 million forints. The stores at 525 Üllői út in the 18th district and 47 Veres Péter utca in the 16th district have not only been given a new look, but have also become more energy efficient.

“SPAR Hungary has been following a conscious development strategy since its foundation, i.e. for more than thirty years, within the framework of which customers can now encounter SPAR quality in more than 650 stores across the country. At the same time, our company pays great attention to modernizing older stores, which typically affects not only the facade and sales area, but in line with our sustainability efforts, technological equipment is also modernized and the energy consumption of the stores is significantly reduced. In this spirit, we have renovated our two supermarkets in Budapest. We spent a total of 580 million forints on the stores at Üllői út 525 and Veres Péter utca 47,”

explained Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.

After a development worth approximately 290 million forints, the SPAR supermarket located at 47 Veres Péter út in Budapest’s 16th district has reopened to customers. The company has transformed the store, which employs 12 employees and is located next to a busy traffic artery, in a cost-effective manner: customers can find the wide selection in a clearly laid-out store, where special offers are highlighted. The newly redesigned bakery department, partly with locally baked products, has been added to the rearranged sales area.

The investment also affected the technological equipment of the store: SPAR replaced the refrigerated cabinets and shelving system in the 388 square meter sales area, and the fruit and vegetable department also received new furniture. In addition, the company installed new belt cash registers in the store during the modernization. In order to save energy, LED lighting was installed in the sales area.

SPAR Hungary is located in the 18th century, in the capital. district, at Üllői út 525, which employs 15 sales professionals, also spent 290 million forints on the modernization of the store, from which the company implemented a cost-effective transformation of the store. Compared to the previous ones, SPAR presents fresh vegetables and fruits, various – partly locally baked – bakery products and an attractive delicatessen and meat offer to customers in a more clearly arranged manner. A prominent appearance highlights the sale products from the large product range.
