Only a lunch for you, but 500 years for planet Earth
According to data from the Association of Conscious Shoppers, every year 13 million takeaway food boxes are used in Budapest only. If all of these are disposable plastic boxes, they are responsible for 1.06 tonnes of CO2 emission a year. On the occasion of Earth Day, Rakun Box Community and the Responsible Gastro Hero Foundation launched a campaign for mitigating the damage caused by single-use takeaway boxes. Between 19 and 24 April people can win prizes if they play a waste-free life themed game – informed Dr Sarolta Horváth, one of Rakun’s founders. //
