Laurel grew by 40 percent in 2008: high-tech is a must in trade
Székesfehérvár-based Laurel Group saw a 40 percent rise with its 3.5 billion HUF traffic in 2008 by selling high-tech commercial science information products – the company is optimistic about the future.
Last year, Laurel sold over 2600 high-tech cash-machines, and they have moved to foreign countries (Romania and Slovakia) throughout the year. In spite of these incredible results, the company is convinced that Hungarian technology is well behind that of the rest of the civilized world. Innovation is not exactly the field that grows fast, it may take a long time for a company in this field to gain stability, CEO István Bessenyei has pointed out. The company is optimistic about the future, although they do certainly realize that last year's amazing results are not likely to happen again this year.
