Milk’s production price dropped by the quarter
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) reveal that the production price of Hungarian broiler chicken was HUF 264/kg in May 2015. This price was 4.6 percent lower than in May 2014. At the place of packaging the price of egg (sizes M and L) was HUF 21.40 in May 2015 – 3 percent more than in May 2014. Raw milk’s production price was HUF 78.53/kg, down 25 percent from the base period level. Comparing the two periods we can see that 13 percent more raw milk was purchased from farmers. In 2014-2015 there was a 3-percent increase in the volume of milk purchased from farmers in the European Union.
