All fours seasons at the Lake Balaton
The sconeries and the beach bars are closed, but in spite of the sometimes Arctic winds and cold the lake is not empty. The hosts of the region have joined their forces and set themselves the goal to eliminate the concept of the season. A number of restaurants and wineries are still open now.
In recent years, more and more people discover the Lake Balaton after the magic date of 20 August. A number of initiatives have been launched around the lake to leverage this trend, and it seems to work well. This spring, the most renowned wine restaurateurs have come together to do something for the tourism and gastronomy of the lake. They want a livable and enjoyable Balaton all year round. In the autumn they met again, and opened the season again as part of a performance: I mean the fall and winter season. (hirado.hu, Kossuth Rádió: Közelről)
