The number of Hungarian ewes is reducing. The trend is lasting since 2012, and during that time about sixty thousand ewes fell off the register – Kukovics Sándor, Managing Director of the Sheep and Goats Product Board and Interprofessional Organization told MTI.
He noted: According to the inventory carried out each year by the Hungarian Sheep and Goats Product Board and Interprofessional Organization, the number of ewes older than 1 year continued to decline. In 2015 there were 930 145 ewes, while in 2016, 917 000 ewes were counted. (MTI)
