A four and a half percent rise in retail sales
The retail trade turnover in November 2016 was 4.5 percent higher, compared to the same period of the previous year, both according to the calendar adjusted and raw data – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced its second estimate on Wednesday.
The first estimate published on 6 January included a 4.7 percent growth.
In the retail trade of food and beverages, turnover increased by 2.3 percent. The sales volume of these stores – giving 78 percent of food retailing – increased by 3.4 percent, while turnover in the food, beverages and tobacco special shops decreased by 1.2 percent, mainly due to a decline in tobacco sales.
