Contaminated eggs – Nébih: the price of eggs will not rise
The number and volume of contaminated eggs do not reach the level that would cause change in the price, but it can affect the market processes – Nagy Attila, deputy director of the Food and Feed Safety Directorate of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) told M1 news channel on Monday.
Nagy Attila explained that the amount of contaminated eggs was large in itself, but it is a small volume compared to European production.
He also talked about how the Hungarian egg sector can benefit from the scandal. He stressed that counterfeit items could not reach Hungary and did not contaminate Hungarian eggs.
He added that since the start of the scandal, the Nébih suggests to buy Hungarian eggs, because according to their knowledge, they are safe. (MTI)
