Nébih: Auchan recalled gluten-free butter biscuits
Auchan has recalled and withdrawn its own brand of gluten-free butter biscuits called Petits Beurre, because its gluten content is above the limit, the National Food Chain Safety Authority (Nébih) told MTI on Friday.
The agency asks customers not to consume the 130-gram product with a best-by date of March 19, 2024. The biscuit can be returned to any Auchan store, the price of which will be refunded even without a block. Nébih emphasized that in the European Union, the ingredients that most often cause allergies must be listed on food labels, for example: cereals containing gluten, eggs, peanuts, soy, milk, nuts. These cause a hypersensitivity reaction only in sensitive individuals. The immune response can be immediate or delayed, most food allergies are immediate. Allergies most often appear in the form of skin symptoms (rash, redness, eczema), respiratory symptoms (runny nose, asthma) and digestive system symptoms (diarrhea, bloating), they explained.
