Nébih: grocery stores were certified in the Supermenta program
The experts of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) inspected the frozen food sections of commercial units in the Süpermenta program, the office informed MTI on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the inspectors visited thirty stores across the country, and ten of them received an excellent rating. The official inspectors examined whether the freezers, the products placed in them, the documentation, and the measuring devices met the regulations.
A problem arose, among other things, with the digital display of the equipment, the measuring devices, freezing of the freezers and spilled products, they added. At the request of the official inspectors, those involved corrected the errors, they wrote.
In addition to the freezers in the sales area, the investigation also covered the warehouse equipment: the measured temperature in the freezer compartment of a commercial unit did not correspond to the cooling range indicated on the food.
In order to check the storage temperature of the frozen goods, the inspectors measured the core temperature of two products, which were higher than prescribed; the inspectors prohibited the distribution of all food stored in the freezer due to the interruption of the cooling chain, they said.
