Nébih: instead of the outdated fish management IT system, a complex fish management specialist system was created
The outdated fish management IT system has been replaced by a complex fish management specialist system thanks to the conclusion of a priority project supporting the control of fish management activities worth more than HUF 311 million – the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) informed MTI on Wednesday.
They wrote that the program created a unified control system beyond the IT system supporting the control, helping the work of fish guards and other participants in the fish farming industry. A control system that meets EU expectations improves the competitiveness of the fishing and aquaculture sectors, and more effective IT support for fish conservation can increase the rate of detected violations, they wrote. According to the announcement, the establishment of the new professional system required the replacement of IT devices, and those performing fisheries control also received professional training. The experts learned about the fish management problems of countries with similar capabilities, their solution methods and their systems for supporting control. The authority’s employees participated in programs and professional study tours promoting data exchange and data analysis. Based on the report, the project was created with the non-refundable support of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and the Hungarian budget. According to the previous statement of the project manager Nébih, the implementation started in April 2017, and the preparation started in September 2016.
