NAV: inspectors discovered excise fraud in almost every third restaurant
Almost every third store was found to be in violation of the law by financial inspectors across the country; the inspectors also examined compliance with excise rules in pubs, coffee shops, restaurants and general stores – the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) told MTI on Tuesday.
The patrols of the NAV deployment directorate also discovered outstanding cases, for example, in a small store in a corner under the shelf system of the warehouse, they found several plastic bottles and liquor without a seal, and elsewhere they found Ukrainian cigarettes. The products were seized and an excise procedure was initiated, the NAV announced.
In response to MTI’s inquiry, NAV also reported that the inspections began in February 2023 and that similar inspections will be carried out in the future.
