VAT reduction for milk is on the agenda
All requests by the professional organizations, such as the dairy VAT reduction are also on the agenda – said Lázár János Minister leading the Prime Minister's Office said, adding that the crisis is so huge in the domestic dairy sector as the whole Hungarian milk production may be ceased within a short period of time.
Producers were demonstrating because of the crisis today in two areas of the country. The crisis is primarily caused by the EU overproduction and a fall in milk procurement prices. The farmers are now basically protesting not against the government, but against the market behavior of the traders and against, dumped priced imports. According to the protesters the remarkably cheap foreign milk products come to the Hungarian market due to committed crimes. (agrarszektor.hu)
