NAIK: the turnover of ornamental plant growers was 12.4 billion HUF last year
In Hungary, the total area used for ornamental crop production was 1,518 hectares last year, and the net sales of the sector amounted to 12.4 billion HUF, according to one of the latest analyzes of the National Center for Agricultural Research and Innovation (NAIK).
59.9 percent of sales revenue (7.5 billion HUF) came from nursery crop production, sales of cut flowers and cut green products amounted to 1.6 billion HUF, and sales of potted, planting and bulbous crops amounted to 3.4 billion HUF. The highest net sales revenue of 79 million HUF per hectare in 2019 was in potted plants intended for planting. The net sales per hectare were 5.5 million HUF for nursery production and 18.3 million HUF for cut flowers. (MTI)
