Increased demand for wet wipes and baby oil

From the baby care products measured by Nielsen wet wipes sell for more than HUF 4 billion a year. Last year value sales climbed 5 percent and volume sales soared by 9. Baby powder is sold in the value of HUF 300 million per year but both value and volume sales dropped, by 5 and 9 percent respectively. Baby oil: annual sales amount to more than HUF 200 million and Nielsen registered plus 4 percent in value sales and plus 6 in volume sales for the January-December 2011 period. Manufacturer brands’ share is 90 percent or higher in all three categories. Sales are concentrated to drugstores and hypermarkets (baby oil: 77 percent, wet wipes: 75 percent, baby powder: 50 percent – in value).
