Nagy István: knowledge-based solutions are needed for agriculture
There is a need for knowledge-based solutions and tools to improve competitiveness in order to ensure that Hungarian products continue to find a market, and the industry to be able to solve the challenges of the coming decades – Nagy István, Minister of Agriculture told M1 news channel.
The head of the ministry emphasized that demand for agricultural products is increasing, as world food consumption increases by 70 percent by 2050, while the production area is reduced by 30 percent and drinking water by 40 percent. A long-term solution is not available today, the task is waiting for the agrarians of the future, so the recruitment of those in the sector needs to be strengthened – he added. (MTI)
