István Nagy: the positive effects of mandatory store promotions are already visible
Although it has only been in effect for a short time, since it was introduced on June 1, the very positive results of the mandatory store promotions are already visible – said the Minister of Agriculture in a video shared on the government’s Facebook page on Friday.
In the video in which he answered questions, István Nagy said that department stores do not see the measure as a burden, but as a competitive opportunity.
He also called it an achievement that mandatory promotions are being introduced not only for 20 products, but also as a way to attract buyers and customers to many more.
“This is a fantastic thing, as we use competition to protect customers from rising prices. The sense of responsibility that customers and Hungarian people can always count on the Hungarian government has been proven.”
– said István Nagy.
He added that food price inflation had risen due to the failed Brussels sanctions and the war going on in the neighborhood, which is why the government had to take action. Earlier, price stops and price caps were introduced, because people always have to be protected from the effects that affect them negatively.
