Nagy István: a close to average yield is expected
Product estimation data are encouraging. The Chamber of Agriculture’s forecast for this year indicates close-to-average quantities, with some of the area’s declining yields being offset by relatively favorable yields per hectare, the Minister of Agriculture said on Saturday.
Nagy István said that the yield estimate indicates a bottom-up approach to 5 million tonnes of winter wheat. Yields of 1.38 million tonnes are forecast for winter barley and 776,000 tonnes for rapeseed, he reported. (MTI)
