Hungarian agricultural policy is committed to the development of domestic milk production and milk processing, for which it will provide more resources than ever before this year, the Minister of Agriculture said at a press conference on the occasion of World Milk Day in Budapest on Tuesday.

Nagy István called high-tech livestock farms in compliance with EU regulations a condition of competitiveness, and welcomed the fact that the budget announced for their development had to be increased from 50 billion HUF to 260 billion HUF due to significant interest. Dairy processors can expect two tenders this month, with a 50 billion HUF call for their smaller developments and a 200 billion HUF call for larger projects coming soon, he added. (MTI)
