Nagy István: national and EU funds contribute to the competitiveness of the pig sector
Almost 18.9 billion HUF will be available in this year’s budget to support additional animal welfare commitments for pig farmers, which will contribute to the competitiveness of the pig sector together with the several billion HUF EU funding Nagy István, Minister of Agriculture said on Friday at a professional conference at the 79th National Agricultural and Food Fair (OMÉK).
At the event of the Hungarian Association of Pig Breeders and Pig Farmers (MSTSZ) and the Intergovernmental Organization for Animal Meat (VHT), the Minister called for the protection of Hungarian domestic pigs from African Swine Fever (ASF), therefore, significant additional funding for animal welfare was provided from the national budget.
