Great Britain is the cheapest
According to a survey that tested the chain of stores of the Western European countries; Great Britain is the cheapest in obtaining basic consumer goods.
The Which? market research company compared the prices of the Western European countries on the basis of a food baked containing 15 items.
In the comparison the well-known international brands are available in all countries including products such as Nescafe instant coffee, Kellog's cereal or Colgate toothpaste.
The survey shows that the consumer basket is the most expensive in Italy: 235 thousand HUF on an annual basis. It is 42 percent more than in the British shops (165 thousand HUF). France and Germany are also cheaper than the Italians – reports penzcentrum.hu.
