MVI General Assembly 2024
The annual general meeting of the Hungarian Association of Caterers for the year 2024 was held on May 15th in the Gundel Solti Hall.

New members also had the opportunity to introduce themselves at the event
The annual general meeting of the Hungarian Association of Caterers (MVI) was successfully held, during which the members unanimously approved the presidential and financial report for 2023 and discussed the budget and action plan for 2024.
Key pillars of the 2024 action plan as highlighted by President László Kovács include:
– Proposing recommendations to the Ministry of National Economy’s Advisory Board for Tourism, and related professional support for catering businesses,
– Collaboration with the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) including NTAK and the National Tourism Development Strategy 2030, simplifying VAT regulations and significantly reducing taxes affecting representation, in cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy and professional partner organizations,
– Regulation of the licensed operation of catering venues – ensuring professional standards are maintained in the licensing process,
– Continued participation in the Hungarikum Committee,
– Research collaboration with HelloPay,
– Familiarization with changes affecting the catering industry in the upcoming TEÁOR’25 classification system effective from January 1, 2025,
– Participation and support of professional conferences and competitions.
The ceremony for the Károly Gundel Award, established by the MVI, will be held on October 27th this year at the Gundel restaurant.
