The essence of what we do
In the following you can read excerpts from two important chapters in the introductory letter the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) sent to the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ).
Problems waiting to be solved
• simplifying and optimising the VAT rules in the hospitality sector • supporting the preparation for the GDPR • cutting the taxes on representation expenses • reforming hospitality trade education, in cooperation with the Sectoral Skills Council (ÁKT).
Results we are most proud of
• modification of the excise tax legislation – rules for storing alcoholic drinks in bottles after opening (2013-2014) • founding the Gundel Károly Award in 2014 • cutting authors’ rights fees (lower music rates for bars and restaurants) contributing to the modification of the VAT law – lower VAT in the hospitality sector. //
