Labor mobility: 46 percent of employees are open to changing their place of residence
According to this year’s Mobility Index of Trenkwalder, 46 percent of employees are willing to move from their current place of residence: almost the same proportion are considering foreign and domestic destinations. Employees are moderately satisfied with their current situation: the value of the Satisfaction Index, which shows their working and living conditions, was 5.4 on a national average on a scale of 1-10, which is 0.7 points compared to last year’s 6.1, while the 2021 Compared to 6.4, it shows a one-point decrease.
For the third time this year, Trenkwalder has carried out its research on the topic of labor mobility, which is regarded as filling a gap in the domestic market, during which the answers of around 5,300 employees in the competitive market were evaluated using a representative sample. The responses revealed that the mobility skills of the workforce are still significant: 46 percent are ready to leave their current residence under the right conditions, which is a drop compared to last year’s 53 percent, but is 11 percentage points higher than the 35 percent two years ago. The largest proportion of people living in the south-western counties would move, with Baranya (61%) and Somogy counties (60%) showing outliers. It is a change compared to last year that the following counties are not located in North-East Hungary, but in the Central Great Plain: the Mobility Index value is both 55% in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok and Csongrád-Csanád counties.
