Minister of Agriculture István Nagy emphasized at the handover of the plant on Thursday: man is always able to find a solution to the problem he has caused himself, so in order to eliminate the accumulation of garbage, we can achieve that more and more products produced on the farm can be reused. He added: the essence of the technology used in the Herend plant is that agricultural plastic waste can be reused. – Linear farming must be put to an end, as only the use of waste as raw materials is the only way to farm responsibly with ever-dwindling resources. – said the head of the ministry.

A variety of products will be produced from plastic waste

László Csatári, the owner and managing director of the Jáger Group, which operates the plant, said that, seeing the upcoming economic difficulties, the company has been preparing for the introduction of new technology for years, because they believe that without a reliable future vision, stable, predictable operation and development are unthinkable. In response to MTI’s question, he said: six people work in the 300-square-meter unit, they produce five tons of granules per day, which will later be used, among other things, to make lawn grates, outdoor flooring, and corral boards. The newly handed over plant was built with HUF 200 million.

The plastic processing units of the Jáger Group operate in Nemesvámos and Herend, 180 people work for the Hungarian-owned company. In addition to the new production unit, the Herend location also houses a research laboratory and manufactures electric clock cabinets in a separate plant. The investment launched by the company five years ago cost a total of HUF 500 million, of which HUF 100 million was government support. The plant in Nemesvámos was built from this sum, and the recycling plant and the laboratory were built in Herend, he said.
