Coca-Cola looks at establishing plastic recycling plant in Australia
Beverage maker Coca-Cola Amatil is looking to establish a major recycled processing plant in Australia with French company Veolia as the drinks giant seeks alternatives to importing recycled plastic for its bottles.
In a joint statement released to coincide with a Coca-Cola investor day in Sydney on Friday, the firms said they would concentrate on the recycling of PET plastic, the material widely used in plastic bottles around the world.
By the end of 2019 seven out of 10 of Coca-Cola Amatil’s bottles will be produced from 100 per cent recycled plastic.
