From now on, Amazon users can also pay with Mastercard’s innovative payment technology
Tokenization has so far been known mainly from mobile payment solutions such as Apple Pay or Hungarian bank wallets. Mastercard is now implementing this solution in Amazon in 12 countries (North America, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe). During tokenization, the primary card number (PAN) is replaced with an alternate card number or token that you can use for available online purchases at merchants who have requested this service. Amazon will start using Mastercard tokens in transaction processes in 2020, ensuring easier online shopping.
