Aldi turns to green electricity purchased from MOL
From January this year, Aldi Magyarország provides the power demand (40-50 thousand MWh per year) of all of its stores, logistics and administrative centers from green electricity purchased from MOL – the chain and the energy company told MTI on Friday.
According to the information, Aldi is MOL’s first commercial electricity customer that only needs green power, from renewable energy sources such as agricultural waste, biomass or solar energy.
The green power, has higher price, so Aldi will pay more than if had bought conventional power. According to the statement of the company, the investment is part of the company’s long-term planning strategy. (MTI)
