MNKH: flagships sailing towards new horizons
Zsanett Ducsai-Oláh has been the CEO of the Hungarian National Trading House Zrt. (MNKH) since this spring. She told Trade magazin that MNKH’s primary objective is to assist internationally competitive Hungarian products in finding new markets. There are Hungarian trading houses in 29 countries now and MNKH also helps businesses with organising and supporting their presence at trade fairs and business forums. One of the new CEO’s first steps was establishing the Technology and Knowledge Transfer Directorate within MNKH. In export development she follows a new strategy: MNKH selects 30-40 companies with great experience in foreign markets in each sector, and these are going to be our flagships, sailing towards new horizons with the smaller ‘ships’ – up-and-coming Hungarian companies – following them. MNKH plans to open 22 trading houses in neighbouring countries and in Poland, but plans include entering Cambodia, Japan, countries in South America and Cuba. Ms Ducsai-Oláh reckons that Hungary is capable of producing high-quality groceries, which she intends to market under a single umbrella brand abroad. (x)
