MNB: households’ financial assets grew in the first quarter
Households’ net financial assets increased by 1,412 billion HUF in the first quarter, reaching 56,655 billion HUF at the end of March, 5,441 billion HUF – 10.6 percent – more than a year before, according to preliminary data of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB).
For the first time since the fourth quarter of 2019, the four-quarter growth exceeded five thousand billion forints again, but exceeded the then 5,148 billion forints.
Of the increase in assets in the first quarter, the value of recent transactions was 937 billion HUF, the quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) estimated by the MNB was 8.4 percent, and 462 billion HUF came from revaluation gains. (MTI)
