MNB: the price of fuels, manufactured goods and unprocessed foods raised inflation
Compared with the previous month, inflation rose by 0.3 percentage points to 4.9 percent in August, while core inflation and core inflation adjusted for indirect taxes rose by 0.1 percentage points to 3.6. The rise in inflation was due to higher inflation in fuels, manufactured goods and unprocessed food, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) said, evaluating the latest data.
Indicators calculated by the central bank and intended to capture more lasting inflation trends – the price index of demand-sensitive products and inflation of rarely variable goods and services – rose by 0.1 percentage points to 3.6 and 4.8 percent, respectively, compared to the previous month.
