MNB: inflation stagnated, with the core indicators rising

In May, the average increase in consumer prices stagnated, inflation was 3.9 percent in April, while core inflation rose – according to the Hungarian National Bank’s (MNB) analysis – published on Friday.

Excluding seasonal adjustment, core inflation and tax-filtered core inflation rose by 0.3 percentage points to 4.0 percent and 3.7 percent, respectively. The other two key indicators rose by 0.2-0.2 percentage points to 3.6 percent and 3.9 percent, respectively, for demand-sensitive products and rarely variable-priced products. (MTI)
