MNB: Hungarian households increased their savings with 5.9 percent of last year’s GDP
Hungarian households increased their savings by 2500 billion HUF, equivalent to 5.9 percent of GDP in 2018, of which 735 billion HUF was realized in the fourth quarter, which is 6.3 percent of the quarterly GDP – according to preliminary data of the Hungarian National Bank announced on Monday.
Households’ net financial assets, in addition to financial transactions, increased by 1462 billion HUF, of which 236 billion HUF in the fourth quarter, reaching 44,730 billion HUF for the end of the year, which is 9.9 percent increase year-on-year. (MTI)
