MLBKT: BMI indicates further recovery in March
The seasonally adjusted March value of the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) is 51.2, the Hungarian Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Company (MLBKT) told MTI on Tuesday. In March, respondents reported a further recovery compared to the previous month. The BMI index increased compared to February’s 51.1 points.
March is considered a below-average month (the long-term average value measured since 1995 is 52.6; the March values were 52.1). The seasonally adjusted BMI index value measured now is the eleventh lowest value this month.
The majority of the sub-indices examined in the survey increased. Two of the individual indices are in the contraction range.
The indices showed mixed changes in March.
The volume of new orders is lower, the index value decreased by 1.7 percentage points.
Production volume increased, but the index value is 0.4 percentage points lower than the previous month’s value.
