What will the near future bring?
Tamás Flesch, president of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (MSZÉSZ) has recently told at a conference that 1 January 2020 will bring the dawning of a new era. On this date the VAT on accommodation services reduces from 18 to 5 percent. The president reckons that this step will make the sector cleaner and more transparent. Mr Flesch thinks 4,000-4,500 new hotel rooms will open in Budapest by 2021. Today there are about 20,000 hotel rooms in Budapest. //
