The participants of the Tisza Lake PET Cup collected about three tons of waste
In three days, about three tons of waste were collected by the participants of the Tisza Lake PET Cup between Tiszafüred and Kisköré.
According to the organizers’ Thursday announcement, this is just the tip of the iceberg, as the floods of the past weeks have spread much more waste in the river’s floodplain.
As it was written, the PET fleet cleaned up the river from Tiszafüred to Kisköré, and the canoes went through the rinsing channels to the lake, thus clearing up areas with special, protected aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. Thanks to live sign-ups and videos, more people have become familiar with the environmental problem and how to fight it. (MTI)
