Consumer confidence in the United States was weakened in May
Consumer confidence in the United States in May deteriorated moderately in May, according to the regular monthly survey of the Michigan University, whose final results were published on Friday.
The consumer mood index dropped to 98 points in April from the 98.8 points of April. Analysts expected 98.8 points for May.
Among the sub-indices, the consumer expectations for the next six months strengthened to 89.1 points from April’s 88.4 points, while the sub-index reflecting the current situation dropped from 114.9 to 111.8 points. (MTI)
