Agricultural subsidies offer opportunities for all producers
Short supply chains strengthen the local economy, food self-sufficiency, contribute to sustainability and help strengthen traditions – said Sándor Farkas, Deputy Minister of Agriculture at the 16th Danube-Tisza Public Agricultural Expo, on Saturday, in Kiskőrös.

At the opening of one of the largest spring reviews of Hungarian artisanal food producers, Deputy Minister Sándor Farkas highlighted that direct producer sales are beneficial for both farmers and consumers, which is why the government supports the development of short supply chains. A total of 1.6 billion forints is available in the new tender, and those concerned can submit support applications from May 14.
The application also covers the sale, storage, cooling of food, the purchase of containers for packaging, and the purchase of food vending machines
Individual entrepreneurs who qualify as agricultural producers, social cooperatives, church or municipal institutions, non-profit organizations, catering enterprises, enterprises active in public catering or market organization can also submit an application, in consortium form – he explained.
The government of Hungary views agriculture as a national strategic issue, therefore the subsidies offer opportunities to everyone
The aim of the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan is to enable producers and farmers to produce high-quality, competitive products. The total funding budget is almost 5,400 billion forints, of which the government will spend nearly 2,900 billion forints on rural development – emphasized Deputy Minister Sándor Farkas.
