Huge support for mangalitsa pig breeders

The Ministry of Rural Development announced that their support the boost in the breeding of domestic mangalitsa pigs with 110 million HUF.

There is a great potential to preserve the genes of the three Hungarian mangalitsa species: the European Union support could be used for a total of 45 thousand sows 15-15-15 thousand for all three types, but currently only 10 thousand Mangalitsa sows are in the country. In Hungary an annual 60 thousand mangalitsas are slaughtered, but only a third of this amount at slaughterhouses, rest is cutted at home. (by our colleague)
