One in six sales was concealed by a fast food restaurant in a rural town
Every sixth sale was concealed by a fast food restaurant operating in a rural town, they were not included in the online cash register or online invoice database; the real traffic was reconstructed by the inspectors based on the store’s camera footage and order and billing data saved in the company’s laptop – the National Tax and Customs Office (NAV) told MTI on Thursday.
The NAV wrote that risk analysts became suspicious of the restaurant, because its income was much lower than what could be inferred from the delivery invoices of the food delivery companies.
The auditors performed an on-site inspection, data backup of the IT devices operating in the canteen, the traffic data recorded in the taxpayer’s laptop and the recordings of the cameras.
The database found on the laptop contained order data and invoices. The auditors compared this data file with the data of the online invoicing program and the online cash register.
Approximately one-sixth of the examined receipts had no trace of either the issued invoices or the cash register data.
