Every third Hungarian buys a Christmas present in a Black Friday sale
Half of Hungarians think that everyone buys products they don’t need during sales periods, on the other hand, only seven of the respondents said that they are tempted by the extraordinary discounts on Black Friday – according to a representative survey conducted by Reacty Digital and Shoptet *. Three out of ten people postpone shopping in the hope of discounts on Black Friday, and approx. the same number take advantage of sales to buy Christmas presents. Based on recent research data, this year 45% of Hungarian adults plan to shop during Black Friday, and the average spend is HUF 43,000.
The vast majority of Hungarians (93%) have already heard of Black Friday, and last year three out of ten made purchases as part of the sale, according to the data of a recent representative survey by Reacty Digital and Shoptet. Mainly students (99%) and pensioners (96%) are aware of these promotions, in the framework of which, based on the answers, even every second Hungarian (45%) can buy this year. Péter Szeles, the managing director of Reacty Digital, emphasized in relation to this last data that, according to the experience of the past years, the proportion of real customers will not be that high.
“This year’s planned purchases are not significantly behind previous years, but since only a part of them were realized in the previous two years, we think that it is expected that not everyone who is planning to make a purchase will be able to make it this year either”
said Péter Szeles.
