The tractor pulling competition in Hajdúböszörmény will have more participants than ever before
The international tractor pulling competition in Hajdúböszörmény will have more participants than ever before this year, the organizers announced at a press conference in Hajdúböszörmény on Thursday.
22 teams from European countries are expected to participate in the tractor pulling competition on August 11-13, said László Ficsor, president of the Hajdúböszörmény Tractor Pulling Association. The competition is part of the annual exhibition and fair presenting Hajdúság’s economy. Vice-Mayor István Sőrés (Fidesz-KDNP) emphasized that the directors put together high-quality programs every year and attract thousands. The Eastern Hungarian Agricultural Forum is particularly important, as Hajdúböszörmény is the region with the second largest agricultural area in the country. The city’s top 10 taxpayers include three significant agricultural enterprises, he added. At the forum, experts will discuss the problems of the pig and poultry sectors, crop cultivation and mechanization, and vocational training in separate sections, and the industrial development of Hajdúság will also be discussed, with particular regard to the role of research and development, he noted. Dávid Hollósi, the head of the agricultural and food industry business of MBH Bank, which supports the event, emphasized: Hajdúböszörmény and its surroundings are one of the traditional centers of Hungarian agriculture, contributing a significant part of the agricultural output. That is why they decided to contribute to the organization of the event as a naming sponsor.
